Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron are expected to take part in a joint economic forum later today.

El-Sisi and Macron are expected to deliver speeches during the event, which is organised by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Egypt (CCFE).

The forum will bring together several Egyptian and French ministers and businessmen.

Earlier today, following their talks and a deal signing ceremony between the two countries, El-Sisi and Macron toured the arts and culture district in the New Administrative Capital, which will include the Middle East’s biggest opera house.

The arts and culture district will cover around 127 feddans and will include theatres, exhibition halls, libraries, museums, and galleries for traditional and modern art.

On Sunday, Macron arrived in Egypt for a three-day visit, starting with a tour of Aswan’s Abu Simbel Temple, where he was told about the site’s history. The French president was accompanied by Antiquities Minister Khaled El-Anany.
